Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB)

At The Mountain School at Winhall, we are committed to being an inclusive and equitable school and creating world in which all people feel seen, heard, supported and able to be their authentic selves. We want our school to be a place where every child and adult can be themselves, where they belong and feel included.

We Believe…

The Mountain School at Winhall best exemplifies our values when the  community upholds a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture where every member is seen, heard, respected, and feels a sense of belonging.

We believe the diversity of our community is not limited to any factor but includes political perspectives, gender identity, age, race, socio-economic status, religion, faith, ethnicity, family structure, upbringing, learning styles, and physical abilities.

Our community is built on a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusivity that guides our policies, practices, curriculum, and the direction of our school in all aspects.

In an ever-changing and increasingly diverse world, we will need the courage to pursue ongoing education, dialogue, and engagement in pursuit of continuous growth.

Adopted March 21, 2024

On March 22, 2024 The Board of Trustees adopted the above statement to guide who we are as a school and community. The Mountain School at Winhall strives to embody this belief in the composition of our faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees.
