Beyond 4 Walls
102411_92756_1.jpgBeyond 4 Walls is one of MSW's middle school-specific (Grades 5-8) programs that focuses on five key areas: service to the community, collaboration and teamwork, life-long wellness, leaving your comfort zone and personal responsibility. This is accomplished through a variety of activities that take place beyond the four walls of a "traditional" classroom.

While activities vary, some examples include:

Collaboration and Teamwork
• Student government (middle school officers and meetings)
• Team-projects and activities
• Working on common goals
• More!

Life-Long Wellness
• Canoeing
• Cycling
• Hiking
• More!

Service to the Community
• Trail work on MSW's portion of the Long Trail
• Working at a soup kitchen or food cupboard
• Harvesting food from local farms for local food cupboards
• Visiting shut-ins
• More!

Leaving Your Comfort Zone
• Ropes courses
• Rock climbing
• Working in a homeless shelter
• More!

Responsibility
Before students get to experience these other activities, they must first show that they are responsible-both academically and behaviorally!

For more information about the Beyond 4 Walls curriculum or our middle school program, please contact any of our middle school teachers.
