The Garden Project
Lettuce L.A.F.F! (Learn About Food & Farming) is an exciting initiative that aims to educate, support, and inspire students and families about farming and food sustainability issues. Lettuce L.A.F.F! is headed by Irene Glazer and Suzanne Houck, and supported by the expertise of additional local farmers that share our core philosophy--the enrichment of communities and families through the promotion of healthy, safe and sustainable food production and consumption.

Both Irene and Suzanne have extensive experience in the educational field and share a passion for healthy food practices that enhance and strengthen today's busy families. In addition to their educational experience, they each practice agriculture by nurturing their own, unique small-scale farms.

Each fall and spring MSW students participate in a Lettuce L.A.F.F! workshop. These dynamic workshops incorporate the core academic goals students are already working on to make connections and thoughtfully consider the source of their sustenance. Through sensory-rich activities and engaging questions, students make important discoveries and connections about something vital that none of us can live without--food!
