Paul is very excited to be starting his second year as the Integration Specialist and Visual Arts teacher at the Mountain School. Many know him as a fellow Mountain School parent, as well as Board Member and co-director of The OPUS PROJECT. Paul has been a working visual artist and craftsperson for the better part of thirty years. After graduating with a BFA in Theater Arts from the School for the Arts-Boston University, he worked in professional scene shops and theaters in New York and Massachusetts, designing and mostly painting scenery for theatre, dance, opera, trade shows
and occasionally for television and film. He has worked as a freelance designer and illustrator as well as a furniture builder and designer. He is currently working in collaboration with the Michael Singer Studio in Wilmington,Vermont, on projects in New York (Eldridge Street Synagogue) and in Philadelphia ~(UPenn School of Veterinarian Medicine). In addition to freelance design work, Paul continues to work as a visual artist. Over the years he has made sculptural work in various media: stone, wood, metal and mixed media. He has shown his work in local and regional galleries such as Southern Vermont Arts Center and Elm Street Arts (Manchester), Wood Art Gallery (Montpelier), Helen Day Art Center (Stowe) , The Stratton Arts Festival and the APE Gallery (Northampton MA.). Paul is currently preparing work for two upcoming group shows in Boston and the surrounding area for this late fall/early winter. In 2002 he received his MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College. His main reasons for
pursuing his MFA were to reinvigorate his own artistic practice and to prepare himself for a new direction in life--that of teaching art. Paul lives in Winhall with his family: Chris, Miya, and the cats.
