On February 27, 2009, Daren and Suzanne Houck - the Headmaster and his wife - donated $10,000 to MSW to start the school's first endowment. Known as "The Headmaster's Challenge: For the Next Generation," these funds - along with other funds donated to the endowment - are to support the Student Scholarship Fund. As a Town Academy (a "private" school with a "public" mission that accepts all children from the towns it serves), MSW believes that every child should have access to the best education for their children. Regardless of income, families
from non-sending towns can apply for financial aid. Currently, over 60% of all families paying privately for their child's education receive some sort of aid.
To date, MSW's endowment stands at $50,000...a great start for a little school. However, much work needs to be done to reach the $1 million goal by 2016. With your support today, we can provide excellence for generations to come!
